✅ Validating Your Custom Domain
To use a custom domain with your podcast (like feed.mypodcast.com
), you'll first need to validate ownership of the domain.
1. Open Your Show Settings
- In your Yellowball dashboard, click your show name at the top.
- Click the gear icon next to the show you want to configure.
2. Go to the Domains Tab
- On the Edit Show screen, select the Domains tab.
3. Enter Your Domain
- Type in the root domain you want to use (don’t include a subdomain).
-
✅ Example: If you own
mypodcast.com
, enter justmypodcast.com
. -
If you don’t already own a domain, you’ll need to purchase one.
I personally recommend Porkbun, but any registrar will work.
4. Save Your Domain
- Once you’ve entered your domain, click Save.
5. Validate Ownership
-
Yellowball will now show you a TXT record to add to your domain's DNS settings.
-
Head to your registrar or DNS provider and add the record exactly as shown.
- This step confirms that you control the domain.
- DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate, but they usually go through within 15 minutes.
🛠Help Docs from Common Providers
If you're not sure where to add DNS records, here are links to the official documentation for popular registrars:

6. Confirm Domain Validation
Once DNS is configured correctly, you’ll see a ✅ green checkmark next to your domain in Yellowball — that means it’s successfully validated!
Important: Don’t remove the TXT record from your DNS settings. Yellowball uses it to confirm domain ownership. If it’s removed, your custom URLs for your feed and website will stop working.
