Redirecting Your Buzzsprout Podcast Feed to Yellowball

If you're moving your podcast from Buzzsprout to Yellowball, you'll want to set up a 301 redirect so your existing listeners and podcast apps continue receiving your episodes without interruption.

Note

Haven’t imported your show yet? Start with our Import Guide.

Step 1: Export Your Analytics (Optional)

Buzzsprout doesn't transfer analytics to new hosts. If you want to save your historical data, log into your Buzzsprout dashboard and export your stats before you cancel or redirect your show.

Step 2: Copy Your Yellowball Feed URL

You'll need your new RSS feed from Yellowball for the redirect. It typically looks like:

https://yourshow.yellowball.fm/feed.xml

Or, if you're using a custom domain:

https://feed.yourdomain.com

If you're planning to use a custom domain, it's important to have that set up before you migrate and redirect. Switching feed URLs after migration can cause issues with directories and subscriber tracking.

You can find your feed URL in the Yellowball dashboard when your show is selected. Click the "Copy Feed URL" button.

Step 3: Set Up the Redirect in Buzzsprout

Follow these steps to apply the 301 redirect:

  1. Log into your Buzzsprout account.
  2. Select the podcast you want to redirect.
  3. Click on Settings in the top navigation.
  4. Choose Cancel / Redirect.
  5. Select Redirect Your Podcast Feed (middle option).
  6. Paste in your Yellowball RSS feed URL.
  7. Save and confirm.

The redirect should go live within a few minutes. Most podcast apps will update your feed automatically within 24 hours.

How to Confirm the Redirect is Working

Paste your old Buzzsprout RSS feed into a browser. If everything is set up correctly, you should be redirected to your new Yellowball feed.

Why a 301 Redirect Matters

A 301 redirect is a permanent signal to podcast platforms and apps that your feed has moved. Without it:

  • Subscribers won’t automatically move to the new feed
  • Apps like Apple Podcasts and Spotify may still point to your old host
  • You risk losing your existing audience
